Advanced Trauma Training: Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment for Complex Trauma and Dissociative Disorder

DECEMBER 10, 2023 - APRIL 15, 2024

Whether clients suffer from Complex Post-traumatic Stress, Borderline Personality Disorder, DDNOS, or DID, they will be able to benefit from the Sensorimotor emphasis on mindfulness, present-day focus, modulation of autonomic arousal, and resourcing. In addition, dissociative disorder clients can benefit from working with the body because it is a shared whole for all parts of the personality. However, more complex clients often have issues of body phobia or difficulty with movement and action that interfere with using straightforward Sensorimotor Psychotherapy techniques.

Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) was developed by Dr. Janina Fisher to address the special requirements of more fragile, fragmented or dissociative clients. TIST integrates Sensorimotor ideas and techniques with concepts and interventions from other modalities to address structural dissociation, severe dysregulation, and body or emotion-phobia. TIST is a parts work method that capitalizes on the body for its effectiveness.

Using a combination of PowerPoint presentations, case discussions, videos, demonstrations, and experiential exercises, this training will enable participants to increase their facility in working with more complex, fragmented, or dysregulated clients.
