This program is designed as an advanced training towards certification in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. The focus of the training is on the refinement of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy skills at each of the five stages of the therapy process.

The Certification Skills Training provides a rare opportunity to refine Sensorimotor Psychotherapy skills in a supportive and collaborative group setting. Each person is encouraged to participate in a way that is right for him or her. Some participants choose to do a lot of transcript analysis and practice outside of class, while others choose to just practice in class and not do anything extra outside of class time. Some make many videos, others decide not to make so many, if any. Like anything, the more effort and involvement, the greater the benefit, but participants find that refinement in their skills is attained even if they only attend class and do not study in between course meetings.

Each training module includes exercises, practice, video assessment, and transcript analysis, review of homework assignments, demonstrations and individual feedback to each student. The length of this training is 144 hours. Certification is an individualized process for each trainee, and attainment of all the necessary skills for certification status may require work beyond this training. A graduate of this course who has achieved certification is called a "Certified Advanced Practitioner" in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy or "Certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy."
